Gulu University, through the Building Stronger Universities (BSU) programme, is proud to celebrate ten years of progress in capacity building for research and community engagement.

The head of the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM)’s refuge desk in Adjumani District has decried the social and environmental challenges facing both the refugees and the hosts as the refugees struggle to access firewood for cooking.

Lars Arne Jensen, the Programme Manager Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC) in charge of East Africa, has challenged Gulu University to ensure that all activities and programmes that have been supported by DANIDA through the BSU project–from the first to the third phase–are kept running as the project prepares to enter into the fourth phase.

BSU researchers have found power in sitting and writing together. But some of their future projects will require consideration of the psychological effects some research areas can have on researchers.

When on September 29, 2022, a Danish delegation entered the office of Prof. George Openjuru Ladaah, the Gulu University Vice Chancellor (VC),  it was strictly business, as the host and his guests got down to discuss arguably the most transformative project of the university in a decade.

BSU has officially launched her CONSCOV project which aims to establish the impact of Covid-19 on the reproductive health of the youth in northern Uganda.
